FILE (KSL TV) (KSL TV) SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by Front Runner train Thursday afternoon. According to Carl Arky with UTA, a couple was standing in front of the crossing gate instead of behind it at around 800 South and 600 West, between the Salt Lake Central and Murray Central Station. Arky said there was speculation that the woman may have been watching the Union Pacific tracks running parallel and stepped out onto the Front Runner tracks, not seeing the train that was coming.
